Invista expands production of Xtra Life Lycra

Wichita, KS – Invista has expanded its production of Xtra Life Lycra 275B fibre to Paulínia, Brazil, bringing powerful shape retention and fit benefits to swimwear manufacturers in South America. Previously produced only in the U.S. and Asia, the fibre was engineered to protect swimwear from fit loss due to exposure to the harsh conditions such as suntan oil, UV rays, pool water and body oils.

Huntsman and Genencor introduce eco-friendly bleaching solution for textiles

Basel Switzerland and Palo Alto, CA - Huntsman Textile Effects and Genencor, a division of Danisco A/S, have introduced Gentle Power Bleach, a revolutionary solution for bleaching textiles in a more environmentally friendly way.

Gentle Power BleachTM is a new bleaching technology from Huntsman based on a first to market enzyme innovation from Genencor. The new peroxide bleach system allows for low temperature bleaching of textiles at 65°C and at a neutral pH range. By lowering the treatment and rinsing temperature considerably, savings in water and energy consumption of up to 40% are possible says Huntsman.
